Plant Your Tequila Sunrise?

Ah, spring. It is a glorious time of year when everything seems new and fresh. Here at Hutcheson Horticultural, it is our busy season as everyone is trying to install their flowers and trees before the Georgia summer weather gets to be too warm. We like to use the springtime to highlight certain flowers that we find particularly lovely and make recommendations to plant them. One flower we would like to shine the spotlight on today is the Coreopsis ‘Tequila Sunrise’.

Yellow flower

If you read Hutcheson Horticultural’s April Tips you already know that April is the optimal time to plant perennials, and this beautiful little flowering plant is just that! With its vibrant yellow color and texture, the Coreopsis ‘Tequila Sunrise’ is the perfect perennial for those of you who want a pop of color to act as a border around your home or flower bed! This flower rarely experiences any serious insect or disease problem, and because it is compact, it is less likely to sprawl like other varieties of coreopsis. While its growth rate is slow, it blooms in the late spring and early summer, so it is not too late to see some growth this year!

Hutcheson Horticultural can design your perennial beds to incorporate these flowers, and will work with you to suit your needs! Our experts will help you every step of the way. Our seasonal color bed services include:

  • Consultation and design of color beds
  • Installation
  • Maintenance
